Ever since Tyler finished school, we have been having so many fun times here in Pocatello! We wanted to share with y'all some of the fun pictures we have captured of Leah and other random events.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi21ALGXuJU1IfIgOKlXgwGYVC0iVUQ1DzpcS6IGks6SeTgdRIjBOds4BQ3KbpdnNZdBd90ZxC35UolEumF3RYvVFG7mpbt9k-ub5OpCofXgSb-Uv3QR8DzTptEEh8-eScx66Ue-PgfDx8/s1600/DSCN0164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi21ALGXuJU1IfIgOKlXgwGYVC0iVUQ1DzpcS6IGks6SeTgdRIjBOds4BQ3KbpdnNZdBd90ZxC35UolEumF3RYvVFG7mpbt9k-ub5OpCofXgSb-Uv3QR8DzTptEEh8-eScx66Ue-PgfDx8/s320/DSCN0164.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

Tyler loves this picture of Leah! She is just the best little girl! She took her first steps on Saturday to her Grandma Andersen! We are hoping she will start walking a lot while we are in Texas!! </div>

This is pretty much what we are surrounded by in Pocatello! There are mountains everywhere! We just love Pocatello and all of the fun things we get to do in such a beautiful city! </div>The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-71371258563094042862012-05-21T22:12:00.000-07:002012-05-21T22:12:06.471-07:00Tyler's Birthday/Trip to the Zoo<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We had such a fun time this weekend celebrating Tyler's 25th birthday! Leah and I had fun spoiling our hard-working daddy. He got a new razor, a couple of WWII documentaries and lots of books!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdMu-7aEjZ8m4UQJpuWivadWtekkgvO3r4_8zwWgtArW2TfdOw12bRjKC3QJfF3-oViLOHgTY2yPD8gzwpqkUzHYRbLQeg-bhi_4NlvsYed-_RXj7czc3_zNNmFSWSZiEFZ5CadBpRyB8/s1600/DSCN0171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdMu-7aEjZ8m4UQJpuWivadWtekkgvO3r4_8zwWgtArW2TfdOw12bRjKC3QJfF3-oViLOHgTY2yPD8gzwpqkUzHYRbLQeg-bhi_4NlvsYed-_RXj7czc3_zNNmFSWSZiEFZ5CadBpRyB8/s320/DSCN0171.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On Saturday, Tyler's mom came down and we went and ate <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pho">pho</a> (a Vietnamese noodle soup that Tyler got addicted to on his mission). Tyler is not much of a cake-eater, so instead I went and picked up a Banana Cream Pie from a super yummy <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Butterburrs/109283692445074">restaurant</a> we have here in Pocatello! On Sunday (Ty's actual birthday) we got to teach primary, which is always the best way to spend church and then we came home and Tyler grilled hamburgers for us while we attempted (unsuccessfully) to watch the eclipse.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
On Monday we decided to go to our city's zoo!! It is not super big, but it was super fun! It is filled with rescued animals that are native to Idaho, so we saw lots of bison and coyotes, and rock chucks. Here is Leah in front of a peacock (not native to Idaho, but really annoying). She did not know what to think of all of the animals, but she had fun.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Here is Tyler in front of a grizzly bear!! He is a regular <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Treadwell">Timothy Treadwell</a>! This bear just kept going in circles and getting super close to where we were standing. It was kind of scary, but really neat to get that close to a bear. Two seconds before this picture was taken I saw a snake on a rock and ran down the hill to get Leah and I away from it. Tyler does not believe me, but the snake was going to attack Leah and I!<br />

Here is a picture of Tyler while he was working on one of his many 20+ paged papers this semester. Leah loves to be close to her daddy, even when he is in his scholar mode!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0DM1ldMnHAqoEjFcyoA1mgQS_m_HfBVqT0OJ8R2x5NfgkrPUguB2kdt2xejfKSneeIcsSY3UxKENToJZDRmUSNOoOLjOQ2ddnFe04Y6mYNLPqPzVyt79S_tsaz8jkFmWcA1GbW4BdQIg/s1600/DSCN0105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0DM1ldMnHAqoEjFcyoA1mgQS_m_HfBVqT0OJ8R2x5NfgkrPUguB2kdt2xejfKSneeIcsSY3UxKENToJZDRmUSNOoOLjOQ2ddnFe04Y6mYNLPqPzVyt79S_tsaz8jkFmWcA1GbW4BdQIg/s320/DSCN0105.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For conference weekend we decided to have a fun trip down to Utah to see my brother Ryan and his adorable family, and for Tyler to go to his mission reunion. We had never been to the new Church History Library. (Right? We should have been the first people to be there!) As we were leaving Tyler ran into Richard Turley, the Assistant Church Historian, who also co-authored a really good book on the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Tyler was star struck! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh2MuKO8srEk1Rlbs7CUKBQu6QjzHs5RRu64sE3WvdR-IHcWmQP-p9jrzOk9SwIBWF0eRhLR9FCJs_tu57m9UBywO9qjv9no4l9pCpNq01FKk71WXD1p64BTQ7vXo4WOY2fcpdMyZf7is/s1600/DSCN0110.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh2MuKO8srEk1Rlbs7CUKBQu6QjzHs5RRu64sE3WvdR-IHcWmQP-p9jrzOk9SwIBWF0eRhLR9FCJs_tu57m9UBywO9qjv9no4l9pCpNq01FKk71WXD1p64BTQ7vXo4WOY2fcpdMyZf7is/s320/DSCN0110.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then we went to a couple of bookstores, that were so much fun for Tyler. At Benchmark Books (the single-best LDS bookstore in existence) he met Curt Bench, who was really involved in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Hofmann">Mark Hofmann</a> case in the mid 1980s (and is also kind of fun to learn about). Tyler was again, star struck!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then we went to another bookstore where Tyler found a Hebrew edition of the Book of Mormon. These are extremely rare and REALLY expensive, but Tyler was so excited to touch one! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaYyEIx4xB5FShPUsRWip-ptU_kdlR35YK4aE5XxWsiC6qW9s79FeNDYSNPElFaTOdiWlv4LXyRshv6LfNpVWzdkRnqVaXu1UB4-lQ2i7GHouDrJOQjfFYDx91gXvmQwf80T3p-LJCY24/s1600/DSCN0114.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaYyEIx4xB5FShPUsRWip-ptU_kdlR35YK4aE5XxWsiC6qW9s79FeNDYSNPElFaTOdiWlv4LXyRshv6LfNpVWzdkRnqVaXu1UB4-lQ2i7GHouDrJOQjfFYDx91gXvmQwf80T3p-LJCY24/s320/DSCN0114.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
We met up with my wonderful sister in law Alison, who was in Utah for a work trip. We were so happy to be able to spend a little while with her and to hear how her and my brother Zach are doing! We sure miss and love them!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiH61Pj9MERJ9WQ9ec3tSq8vujwTSMwobFeuJfqRzcrFBcqD-jS2fZrL_FGK-bmseKVhpKzXyzfQ3FQYyRS7pOIrIexhxDfour5Jc2jmitXMbGeataJYykwPAV80syLo1Hjb5eYz5IT0M/s1600/DSCN0117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiH61Pj9MERJ9WQ9ec3tSq8vujwTSMwobFeuJfqRzcrFBcqD-jS2fZrL_FGK-bmseKVhpKzXyzfQ3FQYyRS7pOIrIexhxDfour5Jc2jmitXMbGeataJYykwPAV80syLo1Hjb5eYz5IT0M/s320/DSCN0117.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
After, we went to Tyler's mission reunion. He loved President and Sister Crockett, and they sure loved him! Teri Crockett is in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, so look for her next conference!<br />

We have been having some really fun adventures the last few months. When we were living in our basement apartment we could not fit our couch down to where we were living, so we bought this cute chair from DI, but as you can see it is a little...dated! My wonderful mother in law saw the potential in the chair and helped me reupholster it! We got the fabric for a good price at JoAnns and then we recovered it! We loved how it turned out! Now all we need is a prettier couch, but we are in no rush! The top part of the chair is what it used to look like and the bottom part is what we recovered it in.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSCMbYM2sX71FHgY8NJXeFVnSy1bbFqn2paVaA_SwERe8ZyeMPr2PTHCvI06bj2mw874PyoOsJMXCyrRoNZzGnLr2qYKZ3zBJDJuuUBiBMopAIXKjaQUaBlcuH5Pt9NXqsWUao6-SmiyI/s1600/DSCN0138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSCMbYM2sX71FHgY8NJXeFVnSy1bbFqn2paVaA_SwERe8ZyeMPr2PTHCvI06bj2mw874PyoOsJMXCyrRoNZzGnLr2qYKZ3zBJDJuuUBiBMopAIXKjaQUaBlcuH5Pt9NXqsWUao6-SmiyI/s320/DSCN0138.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday! We helped substitute for a primary class, which was so much fun and then we came home, dyed Easter eggs and then hid them for our Easter Egg Hunt! Leah had so much fun running around the house with Daddy finding all of the clues and eggs that the "Easter Bunny" hid! Here is Leah and I in our Easter dresses! The bunny I am wearing around my neck was had carved from my dad when I was 9 years old. I have worn it every Easter for the last 14 years proudly! I love you Daddy!<br />

This is a picture of our mud room where Tyler and I love to go and read! We also have a lot of plants that we keep out there that we love to tend. This year we were excited to be able to plant a garden! We planted three tomato plants, and lots of cucumbers! We hope we will get something out of it. I love this picture because Leah loves to go out in the mud room and wave at all the cars that pass by the house! She gets so excited to see them!<br />

Tyler says he will treasure this note forever! Tyler loves to tease his poor little nieces. This past Saturday we were able to hang out with them after a family funeral. This was the conversation Tyler had with his niece Grace. (Note: Grace and her family have chickens that like to sit by the window and look in on us while we sit in their living room.)<br />
Ty: Hey Grace!<br />
Grace: What?<br />
Ty: Chicken Butt!<br />
(Grace runs to nice Aunt Kacey and turns red in the face from anger then exits the room hastily!)<br />
A few minutes later Grace returns with a note that was nicely wrapped up for Tyler with lots of bows. As you can see from the picture below, Tyler had fun continually teasing his nieces for the grammatical error. (Grace did not write the note, but had her big sister Rachel write it for her, which made it even funnier!) Tyler deserved to be called a "but head" after what he did!<br />

We have had some fun adventures the last couple of months. We did end up moving into our new apartment and we just LOVE it! Compared to our last place it is a palace! Below is a family picture of us on St. Patrick's Day! We had to pinch daddy since he decided not to wear green! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijB9-mc51qZF-i6d-GuD7GWIuBTo-2N4aEIXH8XKWwdP80WclLKMh_ZD6VkPC3qlU0VG232EPb0-6FLtyVTt-RA4etMDKrArYecydh2gwzOfxYkNHYBIPscoLtQRg5x3-9t-rA3e0OhBM/s1600/DSCN0083.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijB9-mc51qZF-i6d-GuD7GWIuBTo-2N4aEIXH8XKWwdP80WclLKMh_ZD6VkPC3qlU0VG232EPb0-6FLtyVTt-RA4etMDKrArYecydh2gwzOfxYkNHYBIPscoLtQRg5x3-9t-rA3e0OhBM/s320/DSCN0083.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721029929277383698" /></a>Tyler wanted to have an authentic Irish meal on St. Patrick's day to celebrate our Irish heritage! For my birthday I got an amazing camera from my parents so that I can capture all the fun we have with our sweet little Leah! Leah will be turning six months on February 13<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">th</span>! She is such a wonderful baby! She is pretty much sleeping through the night, rolling around like a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">rolly</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">polly</span>, starting to scoot backwards, and is LOVING all of the new foods mommy and daddy are feeding her, as seen below! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX-w523nn3n0m-gEHtrUEotylzu4lolNk3Kl-cmTRTA80rqym1B2vqxnROAZxnDnPxlzeDq7tWnLcg3mdbIEtAW6CkCcTJU0cCjWytNodVmpg7FGXfsfuFBQQhWFSGRnY9HS6hCn6_MmY/s1600/DSCN0018.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX-w523nn3n0m-gEHtrUEotylzu4lolNk3Kl-cmTRTA80rqym1B2vqxnROAZxnDnPxlzeDq7tWnLcg3mdbIEtAW6CkCcTJU0cCjWytNodVmpg7FGXfsfuFBQQhWFSGRnY9HS6hCn6_MmY/s320/DSCN0018.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5704639202175933490" /></a>Leah loves taking naps on the silky side of our bedspread. She goes right to sleep as soon as I set her on it.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt-H4tLyLjIFt19rp36bPFosZDzp78hqVXLMP313IkZYN-nmubJ3l1UyjhY6CWoCcRZ6gBhjeRFUZrmtZRmwyRxKH-9YbH37N0mvQN7RYBHOw07UKZsWJelrRzfvXmg6topC-E6caYJxE/s1600/DSCN0017.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt-H4tLyLjIFt19rp36bPFosZDzp78hqVXLMP313IkZYN-nmubJ3l1UyjhY6CWoCcRZ6gBhjeRFUZrmtZRmwyRxKH-9YbH37N0mvQN7RYBHOw07UKZsWJelrRzfvXmg6topC-E6caYJxE/s320/DSCN0017.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5704639192792631762" /></a>We went out to eat for my birthday and Leah had a wonderful time being able to sit and look at mom and dad while she played with her "Gary the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Giraffe</span>". (Technically the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">giraffe</span> is called Sofie, but we renamed her and gave her a sex change for the heck of it!)<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcETPLsCnY07cp98yKM7rN4YRvhtBLCo-zMM_BnegCutyA9bAkuAAeVzEmZ_RKsDTfxYyOT8dsr8BxP-0KwOClpSv4wBSua6GeXErvpesQ68PfWFhSH4RfciBCzs13kqiEZ7gQGn5NU2E/s1600/DSCN0010.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcETPLsCnY07cp98yKM7rN4YRvhtBLCo-zMM_BnegCutyA9bAkuAAeVzEmZ_RKsDTfxYyOT8dsr8BxP-0KwOClpSv4wBSua6GeXErvpesQ68PfWFhSH4RfciBCzs13kqiEZ7gQGn5NU2E/s320/DSCN0010.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5704639190202654098" /></a>Leah loves her <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">BUMBO</span>! This afternoon we went to go visit my amazing mother-in-law and see where she works! She is an aide for a special needs class at Blackfoot High School. We had so much fun hanging out with her students and letting them play with Leah. They loved having a baby there! Then we went to go look at an amazing apartment!! It is a huge three bedroom apartment that Tyler and I can stand up in without bending down (like we have to do in our current apartment!). It is about a block away from campus and would be perfect for our little family while Tyler is finishing up his degree. We have sent in the application and hope to hear back on Monday whether we got the apartment or not. Please keep us in your prayers and keep your fingers crossed! I would have added lots of photos by now to show you our current apartment and how big Leah is, but my camera software does not work with Tyler's computer. Until we figure something out, there will be a lack of pictures on my blog. I apologize because I know one of the only reasons I look at blogs is to see all of the pictures! Hopefully we will have an eventful couple of weeks moving in to another apartment and making that feel like home!The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-19328225293024158122012-01-04T23:31:00.000-08:002012-01-04T23:47:34.480-08:00I'm Back!!Hello Again! I have missed blogging and I'm excited to get back at it. To catch up since the last time I blogged: Tyler and I had a BEAUTIFUL baby girl in August! Leah Lou has blessed our lives in so many ways and we love having her a part of our family! She has the biggest smile and loves being sung and read to! We are just starting to feed her solid foods and put her to sleep while she is still awake (I hate hearing her cry!) Tyler and I graduated in December which was a big accomplishment for both of us! After going nine straight semesters taking over 15 credits, working part time, and being pregnant, I finished my degree! It is an accomplishment that I will always be thankful for and I could not have done it without the support of my husband and my family! We have also moved to Pocatello, Idaho where we will be living for at least the next two years while Tyler works on his MA in Rhetorical studies. (If you don't know what that is here is a round about definition, he will be studying the art of communicating with a pinch of philosophy added into the mix. This means I will never be able to win an argument!) Our apartment is short and small, but it is perfect for what we need right now. Tyler has promised me the kitchen of my dreams when we are finally settled because of the kitchen we have now (pictures will soon follow). 2011 was filled with so many blessings for our family along with a good mix of trials, but we are excited for the new year! Some of my goals this year include losing my baby weight (I'd love to loose 50lbs by the end of the year to feel good about myself again), oversee the planning my families AMAZING reunion in July, and enjoying every second of Leah's life! I love being a mother and a wife! I'm starting to understand what this life is truly about and I love it!The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-36819401244369820722011-06-21T11:58:00.000-07:002011-06-21T12:00:45.183-07:00Update!It has been forever since I last blogged! Not much has happened in our lives, but we have lots to update! In two months our little Leah should be here! We are so excited to have our little girl here! Time has gone by so slowly for the last seven months, and yet we still are not ready for Leah to come. All we have is just lots of cute pink clothes to dress her in! My pregnancy has been amazing! Other than my awful nine weeks of morning sickness, I feel very blessed! I've been able handle school, work, and my calling as RS president without getting too worn out! Tyler has also been super busy juggling two part time jobs that are pretty demanding and 18 credits! Tyler and I have sat down a lot lately and talked about what we are going to do about school and about our future and we have some great goals! As of now, I will be graduating in 5 weeks! I wil be able to finish up my degree this semester and be able to start my new job as a mommy, which will be hard, but so rewarding! Tyler will be finishing his degree in December, and we will both walk across the stage at the same time with our sweet little girl! I can't wait to get Leah a little graduation gown!! Tyler has decided to continue to get his masters in Rhetorical studies, which is the combination of philosophy and communications, which are two things Tyler LOVES. The program will help him in either path he decides to go on, whether it be in radio or as a professor. He has applied to Idaho State University and now we are just waiting for his acceptance letter. Because Tyler is such a smarty pants and has a 3.9 GPA, ISU does not require him to take the GRE, which saves us time and money! If everything goes according to plans, we will be moving to Pocatello in January! We both feel incredibly blessed right now in our lives! Even though our little Leah was not planned, we feel like Heavenly Father has helped us out so that we could provide her with the best life possible! I'm so thankful for my life and thankful for all of the wonderful support Tyler and I get from our family and friends!The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-1279817471385646422011-03-31T19:40:00.000-07:002011-03-31T20:26:01.084-07:00It's a GIRL!Today we received the greatest news ever... we are having a little GIRL! Words cannot express our happiness and excitement! Since I was 15 years old I thought that I was going to have a little boy first, but now I am so excited that I get to have a sweet little mini-me first! This past semester has been filled with countless blessings, and also a lack of time to do much of anything else, like blog! So here is the Andersen update for the last four months... <br /><div>This is Tyler in one of his favorite positions, studying! He is balancing 17 credits and two jobs, which will turn into 18 credits and two jobs next semester, along with taking care of a very pregnant wife who has crazy cravings all the time! He is SUCH a hard worker and is doing so good in everything he is involved with right now. He is also very much in love with his new computer! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590443107704914258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfiNk9R53fhyphenhyphenARjgXxM_OSYhv_kA7F8-8s0ne1Lj-FY8ptghyFhEbx4DXJ-Hapm4mj3ACPxw0imQ2nV09NwM34Oya48NqNPgdk-O2hCWM-kGsL-W7OuVJCTDLeAYLR7foUdBxS04HIVh8/s320/100_2227.JPG" /></div><br /><div>I promised my mom that I would get a picture of me in the rocking chair my parents got me for my birthday! It is my favorite spot to be in our whole house! I love being able to come home and relax after a long day with school, work and my calling as RS president! It will also be super nice when the baby comes! Sometimes I think Tyler loves the rocking chair more than I do because I seem to find him in it more often! <br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 241px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590440992490124258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqHhDiLXsPaY0zyTP4XplUt1_mtCMP42ejvr-hInKn9jPdAOitBgqz-mGYsOxt-ZHzX2Gjgorhbtr3JAAPuaG2Ql0asBr_Q_rcNmHzhBCppzuH6obKTNwPEh9ISJ0igc917MNaCxaTXFE/s320/100_2221.JPG" />Here is my VERY first belly profile picture. I have waited so long because I have not had much of a belly until recently. You can kind of tell in this picture that I have a little baby bump, but not much of one yet!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590440987487308578" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEqLDBUOR2jiew1VGAjHE2OLJVaGspmbJohfCvfQM-eDluvJ_rgD2i-S052LDrSwHbcjJeo5z7RsW327Gl8ZV5wsxW3EHc4NK6afbXSt_RjfzbLri0mgA6kyMWWx4jke6aZoTieK9kMwI/s320/100_2222.JPG" />Here is Tyler showing off his baby bump! He has gained just a little bit of sympathy weight during this pregnancy! It does not help that all I have been craving the last four months has been Little Caesar's pizza and Reese's' Peanut Butter Cups! </div><br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590440979607240018" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxDO24mFGOa2kHx315wu2rjpDHRXe_u5lwdBmtsYtpA7kQ0UqSy2DB7bjboAc4I4KhHjLZ7maAMH_EkMGq8KiRJng16A7fB3NoXjq0xfKdIZlrX52gFH3uj20TuX5ZrJNvYu7a4HD9jf8/s320/100_2223.JPG" />Last but not least, here is our little Leah Lou Andersen! I thought it would be better to show her better half off first! This was the first picture we got of our little girl! If you can't tell, this is a picture of Leah spreading her legs wide a part so we could see there was no little "Dink" between those legs! Just to make sure we had the nurses show us her little ovaries! I did not want to have a little "Turkey Timer" pop out a couple months down the road when we are about to invest in a LOT of pink things! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590440974870861554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkEYtu3oWjylCz0p04n9Gs-abwEWA3VrHhoPBhYWON4f2M_M4JbfPBuIxVHkHRLkDnjacvxR2_qlwUqQPWqqKWGkITSjphNZcIsT03Sbf1ilIvNYGaZo922d7FR772jrTJjhBmavDeH0k/s320/37338_ANDERSEN-ALLEMAN_20110331_092949_0003.BMP" />And finally, here is our little Leah's profile! She has big lips like her daddy, and it looks like she has my nose, but who knows until we actually get to meet her on August 20th! It was so amazing to be able to sit and watch our little baby move around today and to see how well she is developing! I feel so blessed to be able to create such a beautiful being and to become a mother! It is such a privilege to bear children, and I am so thankful to our loving Heavenly Father who has given us such amazing abilities as women! I can't wait to have my sweet little girl here and I can't wait to become a mother! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590440971799071506" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfWzsrkfEU_LqjX7pDS2usi_sptH5qn3ljDywQqU7B2_oAtCa8u7btLHIZxi5m1mfjpeXng8_LzRjXpIS_MUu3DOYTibe9WT9TS_yCmivAjdo7Pj2iX05jo4w8sQzu1BUPLhtV5lybH3M/s320/37338_ANDERSEN-ALLEMAN_20110331_092949_0041.BMP" /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Nh-QjHEtxzAr2VQSDmIZO1H9Xw-Fv6IsaE55xhPOX1asQwincSe5n1KE2GiJLEWdMcESjBEEPZ8qpcEcOuP_fbyZ6mJE_F2tTzl9nCLNflRwb84sFDl6kXAvQXciRmy9_smY6LTMOT0/s1600/100_2225.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590441137791637762" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Nh-QjHEtxzAr2VQSDmIZO1H9Xw-Fv6IsaE55xhPOX1asQwincSe5n1KE2GiJLEWdMcESjBEEPZ8qpcEcOuP_fbyZ6mJE_F2tTzl9nCLNflRwb84sFDl6kXAvQXciRmy9_smY6LTMOT0/s320/100_2225.JPG" /></a></div></div>The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-10782134047393722872011-03-06T21:12:00.000-08:002011-03-06T21:19:45.654-08:00Tender MerciesThe last couple of months have been filled with countless amount of blessings in Tyler and I's life, but we had one blessing this weekend that truly was a tender mercy of the Lord. Money has always been something Tyler and I have tried to be careful with since being married. So far, we have been able to get through most of our education without accumulating any debt! This last semester has been a little tight on Tyler and I because I was not able to get a Pell Grant, but on Saturday that all changed! We found out that I was awarded a Pell Grant for this semester! It was truly a blessing from the Lord because our bank account was too low for us to be having a baby in a couple of months. Now I feel that we can continue to save our money and be able to take care of our needs and our future little bundle of joy. As much as I HATE money, I am thankful to have something to make it through the next couple of months! We are so thankful for the tender mercies in our life!The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-7862016125482805012011-01-18T16:25:00.000-08:002011-01-18T16:42:29.312-08:00Our Little Blessing!The last few months have been a true blessing to Tyler and I! We have been so thankful for all of the love and support we have received from our wonderful family and friends! During finals week last semester, Tyler and I found out that we are EXPECTING! We are due on August 16th! Today was our first appointment where we were able to see our little buddy for the first time! The baby's heartbeat is super fast, and it is about an inch long! We just LOVED the doctors office we are going to! Below is a few pictures of our ultrasound today! I think the first picture looks like one of those mushroom dancing things from Fantasia, and the second picture looks... just adorable! I am SOOOO excited to be a mother, and I am so thankful Heavenly Father has blessed us with such precious cargo! Boise is about 4 hours from where we live, so Tyler and I took off Friday afternoon and had a wonderful weekend! Every Saturday for the past 4 months, Tyler has been glued to his laptop and the T.V watching college football games! This boy is OBSESSED! So, for Tyler's BIG Christmas present we decided to buy tickets to go to the last Boise State football game! For those of you living under a rock for the last two years, Boise State has not lost a game (until they played Nevada last Friday and lost... but that is a VERY touchy subject in this household which will not be disscussed!) and should have been ranked MUCH higher in the BCS polls, but oh well! <div><div><div><div><div>When we got to Boise we met up with one of my old roommates, Cara, and had dinner with her and her boyfriend! It was soooo fun catching up with her!! Unfortunately, I totally spaced getting a picture with her! </div><div> </div><div>That night for Tyler was like a little boy trying to sleep the night before Christmas Day. He did not sleep very well because he was so excited for the game! Saturday we got to the stadium, found our great seats, right on the North End Zone, and sat for two hours before the game started! When the game finally started, it was a spiritual event for Tyler! We had SO much fun watching BSU trample over Utah State! It got pretty cold in Boise on Saturday, and Tyler and I soon learned what it felt like to loose ALL feeling in our toes, but it did not matter! The game was amazing, the trip went super smooth, and Tyler lost his voice on Sunday because of all of his yelling! I would say it was a very fun and successful trip! We are now looking forward to my BIG Christmas present... GOING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS! Texas here I come! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547820316109531090" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5Bjm_nIuV44rPIvjvDkinylTsZ3k_xSGPNOH1pbJYV03k45Q2UhjrxVIaJiv019l9P0TCBldtVwSTXnR1XtTtmZLqxA7F03-_SUuol2YHW8U58_JLYbaTXoECLsjWqSNO7nD6ISiLP-8/s320/100_2145.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547820335230544418" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaW_d13XEvPNWqWjnYgH1k_6AZUWbSW7fJNjTbCJdj0saNQ2rofWv3XeUB4-IO22mvj2T13bNcvGLYaJSTdQBHqBqyxPAnYtMlAmvHjeQleRxmY_S1Pg_i7sFLjLeJWtxrcsTyNoe1rWI/s320/100_2128.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547820327457863442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxKM3_MBi2NKVCOvxHac6sxnPyCwuadC-l9OpBm1Q02wjyvaRa7OO5kWAN9NdZCa0LiQwgFenx9eEOzq-SycurulTe2LkIBD0wf20CLRdm4cWCqsLLlZdh5-MLX22tzp9XEuWP3UM4r7k/s320/100_2129.JPG" />Tyler before the game trying the catch practice field goal kicks! We hope each of you had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving with all of your loved ones! We had such a great time with Tyler's family! We had TONS of food and watched plenty of football games and Christmas movies! His mom is such a wonderful hostes and made the holiday extra special! I ADORE my family-in-law, and I am SO thankful to be apart of their family! Here is a picture of one of the Turkey cookies we made with our cute little nieces right before Thanksgiving!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgZeRqYesW7ELptbjnn70oQx8M1_ALfoutRHPTaEZx20gQk2AtmTeYofz1tfau72odw3xZJi9ExILHYu2UAxzRHdQxHunYKFDPp2Xg2ZKS_tHRiGRdHjc6USolk51gUFxVXVSCcaGbGs8/s1600/100_2114.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5544459671009622914" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgZeRqYesW7ELptbjnn70oQx8M1_ALfoutRHPTaEZx20gQk2AtmTeYofz1tfau72odw3xZJi9ExILHYu2UAxzRHdQxHunYKFDPp2Xg2ZKS_tHRiGRdHjc6USolk51gUFxVXVSCcaGbGs8/s320/100_2114.JPG" /></a> Two weekends ago, Tyler and I were able to go to an ISU game! On Friday Tyler tried calling me during my last class! He NEVER tries to call me while I am in class, so I automatically assumed someone had died! Tyler had gotten free tickets from his work to go to an ISU game, and to visit a "Decoding Davinci" exhibit in Idaho Falls, so on Saturday we had a SUPER fun date! We headed to the museum, which was super fun, and then we made the trip down to Pocatello to see the football game! As you can see from our picture... the parking was AWFUL!! We had to park SO far away from the stadium!<br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5544459648421030018" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwUGhZHvCpVL-H5xGGWVKFTUTvAuH8hmQWY1DtkfW7Gu2AVbxoywAUrrJYCDwl5ssx5a8OEStTG-NfiQfvzvSHkIpojpyhpddo6ORQjontCYRq4kWIDsCWpFA4aiTulapt9wL4h0QI6YA/s320/100_2101.JPG" />Then we had the hardest time finding our seats because the stadium was packed! (This was a picture taken at the beginning of the second quarter!)<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5544459658312498674" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhicHduGcWqxvZ0GF0g8gr3d_c_K3yX1ZbZ_GXAarM8sM8A-QzPSvoJGVbsuI4PmdfC5YuiuqlHxqE92TSYdve2kcpBK-4uC2ll-Yv5KTmD2GK1aMwL_Pl1qONFbt0WBEY3S3h5wOVeuRc/s320/100_2110.JPG" />But all of the crowds and the horrible parking was not going to stop my Honey and I from having a SUPER fun time! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5544459653332694306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW5S76LZw2QHXTyVg7PuccXDNKcQ4P5rcFIxAd0fYrvAHZayzEqgXLltvnG0fguM3g8ULJa6s5EcxZXgh3OOsTV_CQsv1vHEGgv3NZU9BtO-GAGNgy8cx5OJM-FspJts02V9phSrReKOs/s320/100_2107.JPG" />By the end of the game, ISU was loosing so bad, we started cheering for the other team! In the end... ISU lost! (If you did not catch my sarcasm, the parking was amazing, the stands were not packed, and ISU has a REALLY bad football team!) All in all, it was a FABULOUS date! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5O8vOQpcxqnBTioid3xosVS6ES5aq3toDwhRNcgyoa4AG7uF0CnAK9mXrnwq4aPb8M6JtdguVpXpxX8DQi7SSN4U5lTWxFnk-QL09lTlPBURJ8ZZB4tFtePRxW4JiTpOwbOzm4hcfCpg/s1600/100_2113.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5544459665232192706" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5O8vOQpcxqnBTioid3xosVS6ES5aq3toDwhRNcgyoa4AG7uF0CnAK9mXrnwq4aPb8M6JtdguVpXpxX8DQi7SSN4U5lTWxFnk-QL09lTlPBURJ8ZZB4tFtePRxW4JiTpOwbOzm4hcfCpg/s320/100_2113.JPG" /></a></div>The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-59364510115780504752010-11-21T18:16:00.000-08:002010-11-21T18:40:15.151-08:00MY HERO, MY HUSBAND!<img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542198153552131890" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCPqzzTBad7eXvdAiZcLbjz9dfIpoDEHfCLFDfLiK07G2t4pRpxoxu7tVfgQOddxatuL7cA3NpIXQamRlHqhG18nj7D2kKxQcwvQTrS08Ph3gSM81ZlFkevKvPpym7a5PV_dW9X6_fY7Q/s320/100_2052.JPG" />Last night was supposed to be uneventful! We were driving to Idaho Falls to spend time with Tyler's sister Katy and her family and make Turkey cookies! On Saturday we had received BUCKETS of snow, so we knew the roads were going to be slick, but we never knew we were going to witness something so... SCARY! When we were ten minutes away from Katy's house our gas light came on, which did not worry us because we would be close to a gas station in only a couple of miles, but the next event was the scariest thing I have ever seen in my life! As soon as we started talking about our gas problems we started heading over an overpass and the car RIGHT in front of us went over a BIG patch of ice, slid where it looked like he was making a U turn on the highway, went off the highway, hit the CONCRETE median head on, and then FLIPPED three times over into the other side of the highway!! It was almost like watching a movie, but worse!! Tyler pulled over, ran out of the car without hesitation, ran across the two lanes of highway (Thankfully there was no cars anywhere in site!), and pulled the scared to death 17 year old out of his SEVERELY destroyed car. I frantically found my phone and dialled 911 for the first time in my life!! Tyler and I both thought the boy was dead, and he should have been, but thankfully he was perfectly fine, just really shaken up! TYLER WAS HERO!!! He was able to get the boy out of his car safely, and he stood with the boy in the wind (which was about 18 degrees) until the cops and ambulance came (which took 30 minutes!)!<br /><div></div><div>Tyler had to stay and fill out police reports and help guide traffic, so by the time he ran across the highway to get back to the car, OUR CAR HAD DIED!! Both the gas had ran out and our battery had died (I forgot to turn off our headlight, OPPPS!) By this time the cops were about to leave the accident site, so we thought they might be able to help jump our car, so Tyler ran across the highway again to ask the police, but they nicely told us that they were not allowed to jump our car. So Tyler and I were stranded on the side of the road, in the COLD!!! We called our brother-in-law Eric and he was there in less than 30 minutes with gas and jumper cables!! ERIC WAS OUR HERO!! By the time we made it to Katy and Eric's house, we were ready to warm up and relax! A trip that usually takes 30 minutes, took us almost two hours! So, while y'all are driving around in the snowy weather, PLEASE slow down, and take it slow when you are going over bridges, or else you just might need a hero like Tyler to come pull you out of your totaled car! </div>The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-21159779508343070302010-11-06T16:04:00.000-07:002010-11-06T16:23:17.360-07:00Texas Countdown!The end of the semester is approaching which means....... CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!! Tyler and I are excited for Christmas, but we are more excited about coming home for the wonderful holiday! Instead of making a Christmas Countdown, we have made a Texas Countdown. My camera would not span out wide enough to show the whole chain, but you get the gist of it! Only 43 more days!!! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536577203493518098" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAKlxLYxzlEGNFkyv-N6yxMFN5X9kNx-81Fy4l2gsBYEAMf8GAIAq4NMim5jFlOX6YEvov-H0r4m1LrMDMZlDjqjUcCULFTmYW8SyPxT6tiWpwDwYaufbd0KQz5fL570lwvoeIzGtt3n0/s320/100_2044.JPG" />Today, while Tyler was watching his football games, I took a little drive over to the CUTEST craft store in the world! Mom can attest to the greatness of PORTER'S!! I can spend hours in that store! It just so happened that Porter's was having a sale on all of their Fall merchandise, so I picked up some decorations for our house for CHEAP!! The garland and the adorable acorns cost $6 total! Here are some pictures of where we used our Fall decorations!<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKMBVz0orYrncVO24eOWDV0VX1zkGHhK1pW5FnHgq9nvBilOYZrSIsyVMZEWtq6j7UVhg4prwTAybAnWWy7dTMJ527M96D23gkcpJF3KxdLTbbCJEEdIIFwCanhAxW1WAwVFfYfEvrn_8/s1600/100_2038.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5536577198199257970" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKMBVz0orYrncVO24eOWDV0VX1zkGHhK1pW5FnHgq9nvBilOYZrSIsyVMZEWtq6j7UVhg4prwTAybAnWWy7dTMJ527M96D23gkcpJF3KxdLTbbCJEEdIIFwCanhAxW1WAwVFfYfEvrn_8/s320/100_2038.JPG" /></a><br />If you are asking yourself, "Is that Herbie the Husker?" In the wonderful state of Idaho it should start snowing the very first week of OCTOBER! Now it is the first week of November, and there is not a SNOWFLAKE in sight!!!! We have had so much fun this year being able to decorate and get ready for the Halloween festivities! Today I spent over three hours perfecting our apartment, and making it super special so that we could win our Apartment Halloween Contest! Here is our finished product!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyGcAeNOkEKXyn995ltF2S3sAyQDyLEXSCbMer39wnFhRLfOiRkrJuKWJsV3sIpG_Xrb39ocwXg3rt4k2tAPKChqwrOx2KrjXlmkl9syO8jNIEv4fj6v6WOoQt4xrDPWMMwKwNtKmY1Xc/s1600/100_2031.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534071320566303506" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyGcAeNOkEKXyn995ltF2S3sAyQDyLEXSCbMer39wnFhRLfOiRkrJuKWJsV3sIpG_Xrb39ocwXg3rt4k2tAPKChqwrOx2KrjXlmkl9syO8jNIEv4fj6v6WOoQt4xrDPWMMwKwNtKmY1Xc/s320/100_2031.JPG" /></a> Our door had a momma ghost and three baby ghost, which were all made out of either trash bags or plastic bags! I felt very crafty when I was making these! The joke we used for these characters was, "What did the mother ghost say to her children? Don't SPOOK unless SPOOKEN to!"<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje78Lyvhl8vonLfc4vyJ1q-P_qoLYtB3hIjJdEquzC1_E49sJQpqIL44z6nwcs2TYHwCneOkP14hmpJuH3oAN0LLBY0-wIW4xNKFGD-etzAC0V76gXKUDaBr88VsDVR2fXfH4j36DreU8/s1600/100_2029.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534071316518870898" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje78Lyvhl8vonLfc4vyJ1q-P_qoLYtB3hIjJdEquzC1_E49sJQpqIL44z6nwcs2TYHwCneOkP14hmpJuH3oAN0LLBY0-wIW4xNKFGD-etzAC0V76gXKUDaBr88VsDVR2fXfH4j36DreU8/s320/100_2029.JPG" /></a> Here is another one of our windows that we decided to use another joke and picture to make the window more entertaining! This joke says, "Why don't angry witches ride their brooms? They're afraid of flying off the handle!" One reason why we made our decorations out of construction paper and trash bags was because we did not have a lot of money to spend, so we were able to make due with what we had! I think everything came out great!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr93rNMk3XOPLULd8kIlK5t_d4mXC9Y4ORkIwLoW4r_vpwHx45080TbcSB_ux3WHsmsv5ZHTjpB2Slozy1fPVy1veSSK9HEO-N1M4ArZHcfSCcVScB5oIps_1NngZSYHwwCLjIEYgK3Tw/s1600/100_2015.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534071308182351282" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr93rNMk3XOPLULd8kIlK5t_d4mXC9Y4ORkIwLoW4r_vpwHx45080TbcSB_ux3WHsmsv5ZHTjpB2Slozy1fPVy1veSSK9HEO-N1M4ArZHcfSCcVScB5oIps_1NngZSYHwwCLjIEYgK3Tw/s320/100_2015.JPG" /></a><br />Tyler and I were invited by one of our friends from the ward to a Halloween party! We had fun hanging out with our friends! We decided to dress up as Tongan missionaries, with Tongan copies of the Book of Mormon and all! Tyler had gotten the Tupeni's and Ta'uvala's from one of his companions on his mission, so we decided to put them to good use! We only spent like $3 on our costumes which was another bonus!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifZCuLTWRUMI7m5ZhE8mDuMKnc4r4be9XDpcFXGNqUnFAV0vsql30nYtgmUEY-8HazMhpLLLQrUEykbnSm22TM-OxQgHNMre7G8ohoTf9waojznXgkslCFGhzajSKW2goOXpUfUbirGlU/s1600/100_2027.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534071300923918322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifZCuLTWRUMI7m5ZhE8mDuMKnc4r4be9XDpcFXGNqUnFAV0vsql30nYtgmUEY-8HazMhpLLLQrUEykbnSm22TM-OxQgHNMre7G8ohoTf9waojznXgkslCFGhzajSKW2goOXpUfUbirGlU/s320/100_2027.JPG" /></a> This was one of my favorite decorations to work on! We had bought a plastic pumpkin for decoration, but we were bummed that we could not carve it, so we made due with what we could do! I decided to make a Pumpkin-Stein (And yes, I know I spelt it wrong, I was in a hurry to get it done before the judges came by!) He is such a cutie, and I love having him outside our apartment to scare away all of the Goblins!!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxOJRlHWBLuuRqsFGTR68KE62Ut5PkbHMTOX8ul_gRfbP8hMmCJ3M1iDbFeUdMdZBfyh-NbSCuz9RyW6_hS8wYxrIbsoTxo-3lgRP9yQSuu85X1phX2WPu1yGwunX1D9E6xbYGYNyzqjk/s1600/100_2034.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534070689601958530" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxOJRlHWBLuuRqsFGTR68KE62Ut5PkbHMTOX8ul_gRfbP8hMmCJ3M1iDbFeUdMdZBfyh-NbSCuz9RyW6_hS8wYxrIbsoTxo-3lgRP9yQSuu85X1phX2WPu1yGwunX1D9E6xbYGYNyzqjk/s320/100_2034.JPG" /></a> What type of Halloween would it be without Caramel Apples! A lady from work made these type of caramel apples for our Halloween party, and I just LOVED them, so I made them for our us! They were sooo yummy!<br /><br /><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH5x9bojLhhkfrUD2AH9AYRx41xIFIoXsVv43D72y68k4JjoNpgJdbvqNAXLChy_4H-mYxVf0p4GgCdazhVaHgj2Y2soUBgwpr9HLT1pN2f1qifDnwC9nw2DR61qwfvel4-fm5xd369mk/s1600/100_2013.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534070673324291762" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH5x9bojLhhkfrUD2AH9AYRx41xIFIoXsVv43D72y68k4JjoNpgJdbvqNAXLChy_4H-mYxVf0p4GgCdazhVaHgj2Y2soUBgwpr9HLT1pN2f1qifDnwC9nw2DR61qwfvel4-fm5xd369mk/s320/100_2013.JPG" /></a> This is another picture of Tyler and I at the party! We love all of the vibrant colors of the leaves that are around us and the crisp fall air (a little too crisp sometimes!)! I think I like this time most because it reminds me of what a beautiful world our Heavenly Father has created for us! Although our beautiful earth will be COVERED with snow for the next six months, it is still such a wonderful blessing! </div><div> </div><div>We hope each of you have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-89777302757233361992010-10-16T19:13:00.000-07:002010-10-16T19:32:20.302-07:00Decorating for Halloween!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyzG5yPxF7lJLfOMqvbj3I48XzQomuYkwSUAUe5nKulAziwRpEBVEzgiLWEl_w5lIepWs-0hj2ztQ-nJuhh-9MXE8QGj8PaSlQyftCGSlf_L0APO5TLMUl-XARS4rBQk-1KOzTwQreWQ0/s1600/100_1995.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 240px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5528832898577574754" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyzG5yPxF7lJLfOMqvbj3I48XzQomuYkwSUAUe5nKulAziwRpEBVEzgiLWEl_w5lIepWs-0hj2ztQ-nJuhh-9MXE8QGj8PaSlQyftCGSlf_L0APO5TLMUl-XARS4rBQk-1KOzTwQreWQ0/s320/100_1995.JPG" /></a><br /><div> It's almost time for Halloween!! There are so many things he does that just makes me fall in love with him over and over again! For the last couple of weeks Tyler has been wanting to see a certain movie and this is how he described the movie, " The movie with Liam Niesen where he says, "Release the Kraken!"." Being a loving and understanding wife, I tried to figure out which movie Tyler was talking about, but I was at a loss. Finally, the other day I saw a commercial for the movie "Clash of the Titans" where Liam Niesen was saying, "Release the Kraken!". I started bursting out laughing! All this time Tyler wanted to go see "Clash of the Titans" and I had NO idea what he was talking about! Last night we were able to go to Red Box and get Tyler his movie! Oh how I love my honey! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuDOknV8iWEtpS9orHj10nGIdDCLPS2NxWLcuD6hR8xZGKrvnB6l7MJ7FWEML-7SymeEjBL7FfkMt12bkQHbaKL6LzZQUbYpiU0t8xgQs4m3VMEN91v_z9UWvrPEeRVPOhyHyIi6HhpjE/s1600/untitled.bmp"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 160px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 201px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512742183559823298" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuDOknV8iWEtpS9orHj10nGIdDCLPS2NxWLcuD6hR8xZGKrvnB6l7MJ7FWEML-7SymeEjBL7FfkMt12bkQHbaKL6LzZQUbYpiU0t8xgQs4m3VMEN91v_z9UWvrPEeRVPOhyHyIi6HhpjE/s320/untitled.bmp" /></a>The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-60134443385495164172010-08-29T21:05:00.000-07:002010-08-29T21:29:53.865-07:00For the past nine months Tyler and I have been serving as Sunday school teachers. We have had a fun time studying the Old Testament together. As a kid I would LOVE learning with FLANNEL BOARD lessons, and ever since we started teaching I have wanted to use a flannel board for one of our lessons! For our lesson this week we were learning about the life and trials of Jonah, and what better way to depict the story of Jonah then on a flannel board!! Because I procrastinated planning our lesson until Saturday night, I was unable to find a flannel board to use, so I improvised! With construction paper I was able to create the story of Jonah! It took me a couple of hours, but it was totally worth it when I heard the giggles from our class when the saw all the pictures!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1mQf73EpcdhEaFMLAbcBBX1_qXfMt3oua1q2Di-gCAKktyki_dGmKwC64LqXL5ruA-bb8Nm6NZbNvZwLfVBVgBWyn0hu48a-VJpb_fALgbrMqHWMlpkCfK73iwgZuw1vPzjoCfI9qc70/s1600/100_1973.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511051507375213986" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1mQf73EpcdhEaFMLAbcBBX1_qXfMt3oua1q2Di-gCAKktyki_dGmKwC64LqXL5ruA-bb8Nm6NZbNvZwLfVBVgBWyn0hu48a-VJpb_fALgbrMqHWMlpkCfK73iwgZuw1vPzjoCfI9qc70/s320/100_1973.JPG" /></a><br /><div><br /><br /><div> </div><div>Here is my Jonah pictures! This class has been torture for me!! Before this class I used to make fun of girls who were in the Home and Family Major because I thought it was a pointless major to be in, but BOY was I wrong! Those girls are SUPER smart! For our final project we had to design our own pattern and then make our design. It is pretty much like being on Project Runway! On Saturday we went over to the Andersen's house and my AMAZING mother-in-law helped me complete my project! We worked on this stupid outfit for five hours! I'm so glad that my project is all done and that I will have completed the most difficult class I have ever taken!! The most important thing this class has taught me is that I am not meant to be a fashion designer... I'll just stick to being an Elementary school teacher! </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The first picture is the front of my finished project! I designed it to look like a dress from the 1940's! The second picture is of the patterns I designed and used for the final project! These are the major part of the project!! It took me a long time to make these suckers! The last picture is of the back of my project! I thought the cute yellow buttons would make the outfit POP! </div><br /><div></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496561570523305442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLAQytLF61CPM2qLhWuhPo2zGlmfCS8PTN-tVpdKQ6m6BOtVxEHf4kPaSNNa3_LLi6yZuaoqp15HxMkD7c7ap2qUv8olt8hgOxiKktoZP3yCxYkZqBIudh2gos2fBmorKtrw7vqbWWGU8/s320/100_1970.JPG" /><br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496559513939703410" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUhbVgUoasNxyOaTvsnuS_yK0IskoVr9dJ4x4MDFKVbFHEonWyUFJBWpqqpgxcYS6-2Kgin6Z5ip_kD-LWRDJqxBnWkUlIFIwnw0nZ91W6fq-_KFqXPjT6Fgsi09vF-ertnrco7gW-JCI/s320/100_1967.JPG" /></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496559541542724146" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6AuxGTGHq_dsWsiU7ZHSQSM8f2-DdI-bT0rLBVmpwXt0UgpNZqmGJWp9Xcme84xDyO4X4K-ZnuynlEg1q8KhyGfGBXr4jxa-8PIWGCULWqJVbjvfpChvlPKhs5xvo211t-eAw1G4HmzE/s320/100_1972.JPG" />The Astounding Andersenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02645006159469375113noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7140100464648337409.post-60679827227486393962010-06-15T21:48:00.000-07:002010-06-15T22:13:11.127-07:00Yellowstone<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaDpAju4YLZBK81Pjzz7q6zw_uiZRlFXKwlw2PsjcugVSGiZgwzjVevbgd38U_MwDzA80spQlfFl3q5H68lQsDheD3eeyRHanbPn1Wz1HkSIcZzBkmIME9O-jmMSykL1CqC-OgMMXiqFI/s1600/100_1942.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483230209701713442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaDpAju4YLZBK81Pjzz7q6zw_uiZRlFXKwlw2PsjcugVSGiZgwzjVevbgd38U_MwDzA80spQlfFl3q5H68lQsDheD3eeyRHanbPn1Wz1HkSIcZzBkmIME9O-jmMSykL1CqC-OgMMXiqFI/s320/100_1942.JPG" /></a> </div><div> </div><div>Over Memorial Day weekend Tyler and I had the opportunity to go to Yellowstone National Park with my old roommate Jenn and her husband Daniel! We had SOOOO much fun! Yellowstone is filled with natural wonders!<br /></div><div></div><div>Here is Tyler and I standing in front of the lower falls of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Yellowstone lake is actually a crater to the volcano that lies underneath Yellowstone park! The crater has filled up over time with water and created this HUGE lake!
