MY HERO, MY HUSBAND!

Last night was supposed to be uneventful! We were driving to Idaho Falls to spend time with Tyler's sister Katy and her family and make Turkey cookies! On Saturday we had received BUCKETS of snow, so we knew the roads were going to be slick, but we never knew we were going to witness something so... SCARY! When we were ten minutes away from Katy's house our gas light came on, which did not worry us because we would be close to a gas station in only a couple of miles, but the next event was the scariest thing I have ever seen in my life! As soon as we started talking about our gas problems we started heading over an overpass and the car RIGHT in front of us went over a BIG patch of ice, slid where it looked like he was making a U turn on the highway, went off the highway, hit the CONCRETE median head on, and then FLIPPED three times over into the other side of the highway!! It was almost like watching a movie, but worse!! Tyler pulled over, ran out of the car without hesitation, ran across the two lanes of highway (Thankfully there was no cars anywhere in site!), and pulled the scared to death 17 year old out of his SEVERELY destroyed car. I frantically found my phone and dialled 911 for the first time in my life!! Tyler and I both thought the boy was dead, and he should have been, but thankfully he was perfectly fine, just really shaken up! TYLER WAS HERO!!! He was able to get the boy out of his car safely, and he stood with the boy in the wind (which was about 18 degrees) until the cops and ambulance came (which took 30 minutes!)!
Tyler had to stay and fill out police reports and help guide traffic, so by the time he ran across the highway to get back to the car, OUR CAR HAD DIED!! Both the gas had ran out and our battery had died (I forgot to turn off our headlight, OPPPS!) By this time the cops were about to leave the accident site, so we thought they might be able to help jump our car, so Tyler ran across the highway again to ask the police, but they nicely told us that they were not allowed to jump our car. So Tyler and I were stranded on the side of the road, in the COLD!!! We called our brother-in-law Eric and he was there in less than 30 minutes with gas and jumper cables!! ERIC WAS OUR HERO!! By the time we made it to Katy and Eric's house, we were ready to warm up and relax! A trip that usually takes 30 minutes, took us almost two hours! So, while y'all are driving around in the snowy weather, PLEASE slow down, and take it slow when you are going over bridges, or else you just might need a hero like Tyler to come pull you out of your totaled car!
